Our Sicilian Pottery Collection

Sicily’s ceramic tradition dates to ancient times, shaped by successive cultures— Greek, Roman, Arab, Norman, and Spanish — each leaving its mark, artistic identity, and distinctive artistic language.
The true soul of handmade pottery reveals itself in its colors, their depth, brilliance, and shifting tones, setting them apart from factory-made wares, with their uniform surfaces and lack of warmth and character.
It all begins with the clay: in the hands of the artisan, or guided by the turning lathe, the metamorphosis begins becoming vessel, bowl, or vase.
Once born, each piece rests in stillness, drying, before entering the fire for the first time. In the kiln, raw earth becomes terracotta, strong enough to carry color. Then glazes flow across the surface like liquid light, preparing the work for the kiln. At a 1800F degrees, clay and glaze fuse into one, and from the fire emerges majolica—glowing, eternal, and filled with the breath of the land and the hand that shaped it.
